Shakti Kapoor Biography

Short Biography: Shakti Kapoor’s childhood name was Sunil Sikander Lal Kapoor. He was born on 3 September 1952 in Delhi, India to a very middle-class Punjabi family. Shakti Kapoor is known as an Indian actor in Bollywood films. Shaktikapur acted as a comedian and villain in more than 100 Bollywood films in the 1980s and 1990s. His father used to run a tailor shop in Connaught Place Delhi. When Sunil Dutt was making a “Rocky” movie to launch his son Sanjay Dutt in the 1960s, he chose Shaktikapur as the villain. Everyone knew Shakti Kapoor by the name of Sunil Sikanderlal Kapoor. Sunil Dutt felt that his name “Sunil Sikanderlal Kapoor” would not suit the name of a villain and hence, “Shakti Kapoor” was born. He grew up in Karol Bagh, Delhi. His father owned a clothes shop; He also owned a tailoring shop. His mother was a housewife. After college, his father wanted him to join the family business, but Shakti Kapoor did not want that. He wanted to do something on his own, such as opening a travel agency. He underwent six months of training to start a travel agency. His father was to give a part of his clothes shop to his travel agency, but he refused. This made Shakti Kapoor very sad, after which he took admission in FTT (Indian Film and Television Institute) in Pune and did a two-year diploma course in Acting. Shakti Kapoor was not interested in acting, but her college friends were from Delhi theater circle. Friends also filled their form and also Shakti Kapoor. When Shakti Kapoor gets a call from FTII, he is shocked – all his friends are rejected and he is picked!
